It started with an apartment in Croatia.
I wasn’t an investor and I didn’t have a plan. I just wanted a small place by the sea - and it turned out you don’t need to be rich to have one. That one purchase changed how I saw the map of Europe. Once you start looking, you realize the whole continent is full of houses and flats going for the price of a used car: in villages, on islands, in the mountains.
So I kept going. A few years later I bought a house in Greece and went through the entire process myself - the foreign-language contracts, the paperwork, the notary’s office, all the things nobody warns you about until you’re already standing in them.
